The objective of SURE is to integrate professional staff, faculty, students, and other University
resources to focus on issues and problems of urban and regional development through an ongoing program of basic and applied
research and technical assistance, and providing training for government and government agencies, social service organizations
and businesses.
Key activities of Centre
Encourage and initiate research among members Promote research on the area of housing, urban regeneration, economic
development, property valuation and taxation, real estate investment, property
management and the governance of land policy. Provide professional advice and consultancy work to the government, government
agencies and private sectors local and international, on the research area. Develop networking with the industry and research community. Provide training and courses to professional, students and public on the awareness
related to the area of planning and land development, urban redevelopment,
property consultancy, real estate investment, housing and urban studies. Conduct national or international seminars, conferences and symposiums on related
issues to the research area. To be a Members or associate members to any national or international association
related to the research area. To produce periodical reports and journal for publications. To produce a refereed journal. To offer subjects and examination questions related to research area for the
professional/examination bodies local or international. (The centre has provided
examination questions to the Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia since 2005).
