Department Mission

To advance know & learning through quality research and education in oral disease preventive and health promotion.

Department Vision

To be can internationally renowned  institution of higher learning in research, innovation, publication and teaching in the preventive of oral disease & the promotion of oral health.

 Knowledge and understanding of the :

1.      Scientific information which forms the foundation of Community Dentistry; 

2.      Broad principles of scientific thought, including experimental design; 

3.      Community care of patients including presentation; 

4.      Legal and ethical requirements for the practice of dentistry;  

5.      Profession’s wider responsibilities towards the community as a whole. 

Skills to : 

1.      Utilize their knowledge to solve community problems;  

2.      Work as part of a dental team;  

3.      Prepare and present written and verbal reports utilizing the appropriate information technology.     

Facilities :

The Department of Community Dentistry provides the following facilities:  

1.      Dental Health Education Clinic for outpatients; 

2.      Department of Community Dentistry Seminar Room; 

3.      Oral health Education Materials and Resources; 

4.      Clinical Preventive Care for Long term Special Needs Patients.
