There are limited part-furnished apartments reserved for international postgraduate students. The International Students Affairs Unit, Institute of Postgraduate Studies may assists students in seeking suitable accommodation located in the vicinity of the University of Malaya and the nearby cities of Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur.

The estimated rental rates per month for accommodation within 5 km from the University of Malaya campus are as follows:

q     Room (sharing)                                       RM450.00 (US$90.00)

q     Apartment (3 rooms)                               RM700.00–1,200.00 (US$190.00–320.00)

q     Single storey link house (3–4 rooms)        RM800.00–1,200.00 (US$220.00–320.00)

q     Double storey link house (3–4 rooms)       RM1,000.00–1,800.00 (US$120.00–480.00)
