Content Outline

Outline of field camp content:

       The field work takes place from May 7th to May 19th 2007. The location of the survey camp is the green belt behind the 7th Residential College in the UM Campus. During the field camp, the students spend 9 days on fieldwork,  processing the data and finally producing plans.

DATES AND REGISTRATION
Survey Camp is scheduled for Sunday, May 7th  - Saturday. 19th , 2007. Students should report to the Camp Director by 8:00 AM Monday, May  7th , 2007.  To attend Survey Camp, students must be officially registered in the course KAEA 1246 Survey Camp.

FEES
The fee for student’s accommodation and meals RM300.00 will be borne by the students. This fee must be paid in advance to the university before registration.

LOCATION
The camp site is located behind the 4th and 7 th Residential Colleges in UM campus

 ACCOMMODATION
The 1st College provides excellent accommodation and food. The committee is billed for these charges therefore students are required to a fee as outlined in the above section.  Students must provide their own blankets, linens and towels.

TRANSPORTATION
Students shall be provided with transport for travel TO and FROM the camp to ensure that they will be able to arrive punctually. Private vehicles will not be required or permitted for any of the exercises during the camp.

CLOTHING AND PERSONAL EQUIPMENT

The following list of items is considered essential:

(1) Usual clothing and personal effects for a 14 night stay,
(2) Towel and bath kit,
(3) blanket, linen and towels, laundry soap,
(4) Adequate footwear for field use - preferably boots or substantial shoes,
(5) Hat, sun-glasses, or other suitable sun protection,
(6) Sun screen, insect repellant
(7) Wet weather protection - a rain coat,
(8) Drinking water bottle and/or thermos container,
(9) Small pack or bag for personal items, equipment and lunch in the field,
(10) Electronic calculator,
(11) Usual field book sheets will be provided.
