Attendance:Perfect and punctual attendance
is expected. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each morning (8.00am). Frequent lateness is unacceptable; students
who come late will be considered absent. The following attendance mark/penalty plan will apply to
all students:
Attendance
• FULL attendance – 10 marks added to student’s course score as final score. • One absence (excused or unexcused) – 2 marks deducted from student’s course score. • Two absences (excused or unexcused) – 4 marks deducted from student’s course score. • Any student having three or more absences (excused or unexcused)
will automatically receive a failing grade of “E”
for the course regardless of other scores.
The lecturer holds the option to vary this attendance policy under
extenuating circumstances.
Disruptive or distracting behavior:Disruptive or distracting behavior of any type is not allowed during
the field work. This includes reading newspaper, playing games, smoking etc. Students that disrupt the field work may be asked
to leave. Consistent late arrivals are also considered a serious disruption to the group. A student with three (3) or more
late arrivals will be asked to leave the camp.
Field work honesty:Cheating, fabrication, plagiarism or helping others to commit these acts will not be tolerated. Field work
dishonesty will result in strict disciplinary action including, but not limited
to, failure of the student assessment item or course, and/or dismissal from the survey camp. If you are not sure what constitutes
field work dishonesty, consult or ask
the lecturers.
