The centre was “officiated” as University of Malaya Family Development Centre in November 2003 and came directly under the Vice Chancellor. Located
in the Faculty of Education and occupies the space which was once the office of the Dean of Education. Principally the centre
was to focus on multi-disciplinary research.However outreach programs and seminar
became central activity until 31 Mei 2005 when it was closed temporarily and all three of its contract worker left. UAD (Unit
Audit Dalaman) suggested resubmission for approval by the University (UM.C/AD/17/1 dated 25/6/07). On the 15/7/07 a new director
was appointed and one new contract worker joined the centre on the 10/8/07.By 23/10/07
QAMU approved the closure of all the Non-Compliances submitted to UMCFD during the UAD bil. 7/2006.
